8.22.10: Stricken with guilt over heat wave air-conditioning emissions, Now or Never Producer Sarah Bacon switches her Brooklyn condo’s electric utility from ConEd to a renewable Energy Service Company (ESCO), Community Energy, and a lot of questions came up along the way.

We spoke with NRDC Air & Energy Attorney Brandi Colander, project manager for www.greenpowernyc.com, which helps New York customers pick out a green ESCO.

We also spoke with Community Energy Spokesman Jay Carlis on how much carbon output a new customer reduces, whether the juice powering customers’ cable TV is actually “green” and if that matters in reducing our reliance on oil and coal-generated electricity.
